Why Dunkin' Donuts Shouldn't be Just Be About Donuts Anymore

One of my favorite childhood memories circles around the times when mom would buy my bro and me a huge box of Dunkin' Donuts munchkins.  And what's not to like?  They're small (perfect for small mouths trying to fit in a whole munchkin piece without choking) and they're extremely tasty!

So fascinated was I with this donut brand that they have, to date, become my median to other similar fried dough treats.  And although I do eat an occasional donut or 2 from other stores, it is still this humble brand that I crave again and again (just ask hubby who had the unfortunate experience of being dragged all over Singapore Changi airport just so I could grab my favorite Dunkin treat!  Now that's love.  Heheheh!)

But man does not live on donuts alone.  And as my palate eventually craved savoury treats, I also found that my favorite donut shop also offered me a taste of what has now become one of my favorite sandiwiches --- the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato croissant (Php65)!

As the name implies, this sandwich consists of bacon, tomatoes and lettuce placed in between soft croissant buns.  I love sandwiches with lost of veggies.  It sort of gives me the satisfaction of knowing that I am eating something healthy even though there is the presence of artery-clogging bacon.  Hehehe!

As I've mentioned in a previous post, I'm also not too fond of crispy bacon.  It just doesn't taste right to me.  Dunkin' Donuts does it best when they prepare their bacons just right -- chewy.

Of course a meal wouldn't be complete without desert.  And with that, their Nutty Choco brownie (Php12.50) surely hits the spot.

So the next time you find yourself in a Dunkin' Donuts shop, why not try ordering something else besides donuts for a change?  =)

  10. I had always loved buying their bavarian doughnut and coffee combo after I lunch. I walk to Shang from the office in order to get one :) It has been a long time since I tasted one of their sandwiches. All I remember was that the bacon was all fat, and soggy :D
