Celebrate with a Cake Wreck

If this were a perfect world, everything would be frills and thrills.  Nothing bad, all aesthetically beautiful.  Unfortunately, this is not the case.  But who says the bad are supposed to be hidden?

Cake Wrecks showcases and actually celebrates these disasters.

Nathaniel Salang’s 3-day Basic Photography Seminar

Sometime in the mid-2010, I was fortunate enough to have a won a DLSR camera from Sony and AXN Asia (Wohhooooo!!!)  Having been born with a very bad contest streak (I swear I could never win a thing in any contest or raffle before!), this prize came as such a huge and welcome surprise, exactly just what I needed to get me out of my funk that time.

It finally arrived!  =D

BOOK REVIEW: My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares

Having a lot of free time nowadays has been such a blessing at times.  For one thing, I've started reading again, a lot.  And I do mean A LOT.  I get to finish a single book, on average, around 2 to 3 days.  Hence, my new inspiration to write reviews on books I've read, whether those recently published or not.

Which brings me to today's entry -- My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares.

New Dress A Day Project: Be Inspired!

Being pregnant and choosing not to work for the duration of such sure has left me with a lot of free time on my hands.  Which is why I am so grateful for the web and the interesting sites I get to visit (isn't technology truly wonderful?)

One of these would be the New Dress A Day website.

What is Wylio.com?

Following various blogs and having attended photography classes have enlightened me to the importance of respecting other people's creative works.  Images that have been taken or "borrowed" from other internet sites may seem innocent enough until the author or photographer complains.

Ever since then I have started using Wylio for my blogging photo needs.

On Pregnant Footsies and Toesies

Being pregnant sure has a lot of perks.  Aside from that special bond that slowly develops between you and your baby, there's also the joy of having hubby pamper you like no other (aminin!)  =)

A downside to all this though is I don't get to wear a lot of my high-heeled shoes or wedges as much as I like.  Since nowadays, walking or even just staying on my feet for a few hours can be such a pain!  It's a good thing So! F.A.B has such great sandals that are not only comfy but oh so stylish as well!

Confused Much?

There are just some people who I have a hard time matching their names to.  I mean I have a really hard time matching names to specific faces.  No idea why but I just could not seem to master this.  And as an HR professional, this is definitely a big disadvantage.

A Year of Blessings

Jose Mari Chan definitely had the right idea when he sang the Christmas song Count your Blessings (Instead of Sheep).  The year 2010, although stressful, has indeed reminded me that despite the everyday challenges, there are still a lot of things to be thankful for.  Here are just a few...

The Movie that Broke my NTMS

I loved watching the old cheesy tagalog movies of the 80s and the 90s.  Super Inday and the Golden Bibe had me in a laughing frenzy.  Roderick Paulate as Petrang Kabayo was a supreme classic.  And who could forget the guys of Bagets (which I watched for a number of times even though I could not understand the workings of the complex teenage mind yet - I was but only in Grade 1 when I first caught it on TV)?

An A-Ok AyosDito Shopping Experience!

I love shopping!  Show me a member of the female sex who doesn't.

It serves as stress-reliever of sorts for me most especially on days when work just seems to follow you around even after the clock has struck the end of the workday.  Not only does it distract my mind from work, the walk also tones my lower limb muscles.  Beat that, Stairmaster!  =)
