Earn Money Online Through Essays.ph

I've mentioned in previous posts that I have decided to take a sabbatical of sorts from work while pregnant.  Although I was originally uncomfortable with the idea (having been in the corporate world since I graduated last 2003), I have slowly realized the advantages of being at home while in this pregnancy state.  For one thing, I could sleep anytime I want and be as lazy as I want to be as well.  Hehehe!

However, one finds it being so routine and dreary.  I'd be a hypocrite if I say I didn't miss my hectic work life.  I miss the grueling deadlines, the headaches, the paperwork.  Heck!  I even miss my ever makulit boss!

That being said, I decided to one day browse through the papers and the web for an online job I could do at home.  But I didn't want just any job.  I wanted one where I still had the freedom to accept or decline assignments and where I was still handling my own time.  And that's when I came upon Essays.ph.

I actually first came upon Essays.ph through a job ad they placed in The Philippine Star.  I was well-aware of companies who offer freelance writing jobs at home (they being one of them) and after browsing through their website and a number of online forums for feedback, decided to try my luck and pass my resume.

A fews days later, I was invited to submit a sample of my written work.  The hiring was actually done online, something which I am not all that used to, and the rest, as they say, is history.

And now, 6 months working for this company, I am actually quite content.  I have to admit, though, the pay isn't that high (well, not as I am used to anyway.  Hehehe!)  A usual average assignment (composed of a number of articles per job) can earn anywhere from Php150 to 300, which they pay through my Gcash account (they also offer a number of other payment options.)

But I am in-charge of my time and can accept assignments anytime I feel like it, which was my main goal in the first place.  I usually complete a writing assignment within 3 hours, and for the rest of the day, I go about my usual activities again -- whether it's resting, reading, completing a hobby or getting things ready for the arrival of baby.  Best of all I get the satisfaction of knowing I accomplished something for the day, a feeling I normally enjoyed while I was still working.

There are a number of downsides, though.  Assignments are picked through an online portal for Essays.ph members, with very minimal interaction with the site's "editors" (or the people who work full-time at the company and manage the freelancers.)  I've actually experienced being given an incomplete and/or extremely confusing sets of instructions; and even come across unexplained policies (they do have an online manual, but IMO it's a little lacking.)  There are editors who can help you out, which they have done on a number of occasions, but still it would be nice if they could tweak their processes a bit.

Other than those mentioned, I haven't experienced anything as major as not being paid on time or any extreme conflicts of interest.  It's actually a nice way to earn a little extra money if you have some free time in your hands.  =)

@Miss `Chievous: I'll have to check out the sites you mentioned as well. Sounds interesting. =)

@michi: Depends on the assignment. On average, assignments are composed of 5 500 word articles. For those types, they usually pay Php300. =)

  5. Wow, you work online too! :D Sometimes I miss working in an office and the friends I made there. However, nothing beats the convenience of working in your pajamas, hehe.

By the way, you can try writing for Qualitygal.com. :) I used to write there using my grandmother's account when I had no full time homebased job yet. The pay is good though there is sometimes a lull in projects.

  9. Thanks for the article and the comments were helpful. =) Try checking out http://www.earnparttimejobs.com/index.php?id=3668960 too, although I'm not yet sure about it... It's so hard to figure out which are scams or not! There was this online article I read about an organized crime via online jobs and forwarding money and transaction, etc.... sigh...

  11. Hello, is it possible for you to earn more than P300 a day? atleast 400-450 a day?

  12. @yansky23: Yes, there are assignments that pay more than Php300. Or you can also opt to take more than 1 assignment per day. Payment through is usually a week after submission, provided there are no revisions required.

  14. Hello, do you still write at essays? I just want to ask, can you really complete a 5x500 word article in just 3 hours? That's super fast. I'm just a newbie, and I almost consume the whole 24 hours just to finish the assignment.

  15. @Anonymous: Hi! Unfortunately I don't write for them now as I've given birth already and I'm currently looking for work. That alone plus running after baby is really hard work as it is. Hehehe!

Yes, I do finish an assignment on an average of 3 hours. But that's for topics I really am familiar with already and like. It just seems easier to write about topics I find fascinating.

That's ok if it takes you longer. Everyone is different so don't compare youself to me. I'm sure you also have a lot on you plate which requires your attention too. =)

    1. Their payout is a little small, I have to agree. It's really good for parttimers lang talaga. =)

Although I'm not as active as I was before since I've been focusing all my energies on family. =)

  17. Hello.
I was rejected two times. I'm wondering what kind of article they are looking for. Can you help me?

  18. I'm already a member (black team). My screening sample was rejected. I submitted another sample with another topic when they rejected my first sample. That was Pregnancy over 40 and Debt Consolidation.

    1. Hello Dona, apologies for the very late reply. Have you applied already? You have to follow their recruitment process first which does include a sample article, if I remember correctly.

  23. Is essays.ph good for someone who plans to work at home on a full-time basis? I'm about to leave my day job in a matter of months and I'm scouring the web for online opportunities. I've already passed their exam and am now on the Red Team.

    1. Hello, really sorry for the late reply. Unless you're a super prolific writer (and choose to get the harder assignments like ebook writing and the like), then I guess it is fine.

For me, though, it might not be enough to sent my kid to school (much less if you have 2 or 3). Hope this helps.
