Finally! A Taste of happy lemon! (A Singapore Beverage Post)

Stands like happy lemon sprouted within the Metro Manila area seemingly overnight.  I'm actually still in awe at how many they are now, and the number just keeps on growing every month.

Well, I may not always be a fan of tea, milky or otherwise (sorry, folks.  The taste just doesn't sit well with me.), but that didn't stop me from trying out their other non-tea based drinks.

happy lemon has actually been on my must-try list since it opened in the Philippines, specifically since I've gotten so curious about their Cocoa with Rock Salt Cheese drink.

Sure, I've had doubts before.  I mean, come on!  Cocoa and salt and cheese were, to my limited knowledge then, didn't sound like such a good combination.  But the calling of a mixture of sweet and salty tastes was just too much, so I succombed and finally got to try it here in Singapore.

Now you'll hear me singing a different tune (backed up with a choir of heavenly angels harmoniously singing with me too.)

I've always believed that the joy of eating (or drinking) is brought on by various, totally different elements that when combined, makes the sensation of taste so much better, adding up to a truly great meal (or in this case drink.)  For instance, I always like very cold ketchup on my hot home-made fried chicken, salty bacon with savoury pancakes and sinfully sweet syrup, and so on and so forth.

It's just like a taking a sip of happy lemon's Cocoa with Rock Salt Cheese (which, by the way, costs S$3.50 here or approximately Php115*)  You get the sweet cocoa with hints of the salty uhmmm... salt and cheese.  *Sigh*  Heavenly!

Nowadays, rarely does a visit to ION Orchard mall ever complete without me buying a cuppa.  Hay!  Sheer bliss.  Now I know how Michy of [i am a dekaphobic] feels.

Another interesting drink to try is their Lemon Pineapple with QQ Jelly (S$3 or Php99*).  Tastes surprisingly like Del Monte pineapple juice with nata de coco bits.  Mmmmm....

So totally addicting and bad for the waistline.  J
