Fast forward to my very first trip to Singapore last 2007. The ex-BF (now the Husband) brought me to this quaint little Swedish market restaurant called Marché® (read my full post about it here) where he introduced me to their delicious calamansi with sour plum drink. And now I completely understand where the Cousin was coming from. It's a great mix of sweet, sour, and salty that makes this one truly addicting drink.
I've gotten so hooked on this that not a month passes without me asking for a cup. Marché®, unfortunately, is quite a ways from our place. So whenever my carving for this kicks in, I just have the very next best thing -- a bottle of cool, refreshing Allswell's Plum juice.

Allswell is a leading Singaporean FMCG company that is perhaps best known for representing the Red Bull Energy Drink to the vast Asian market. But aside from that, they are also quite famous here in Singapore for their Functional Asian Drink line which includes various local fruit flavors such as Longan Red Date, Water Chestnut & Sugar Cane, and Starfruit (or what we Pinoys call balimbing) juices.
Plum juice is also a part of this line and, as the name implies, is a drink made out of plum; a 500ml bottle of which costs only S$1.30 (Php42.) It's sweet and a little salty and yes, it tastes just like kiamoy (in liquid form.)
It's usually an acquired taste, but I am definitely loving it. Call me crazy, but it's also quite tasty too. Guess weirdness does run in the family. J
*S$1 = Php33
