Even though I am such a bookworm, you'd be surprised to know that I rarely follow an author.  What I mean to say is, I buy my titles based on a book's summary (am, in fact, actually totally peeved off by writers who don't place a little background content at the back of their novels -- yes, I'm talking about you, Danielle Steel!  You with your mala-Dynasty-esque poses and whatnot.  No offense to those who love her work.  J)

But I digress.  That being said, you'll know immediately if I'm a fan of a particular author when I have his/her complete works on hand.  And Kate Morton is definitely one of them.

Nope.  The title's not a typo error.  Yakult cultured milk drink does have many flavors.  Here in Singapore, anyway.  There are, in fact, 4 different varieties to choose from...

Garrett Popcorn Shops in Singapore

I usually associate popcorn with movies.  Whether it was a riveting cartoon or a sappy local comedy, my movie-going experience just isn't complete without those popped, and oftentimes burnt, pieces of corn kernels.

Back in the days (I feel so old!), popcorn usually came in 3 flavors: plain salted, buttered or cheese (the 3rd one being my most favovite.)  But now, we see a prolifiration of "gourmet" popcorn shops invading the market.  One of those offering these here in Singapore is Garrett Popcorn Shops.

The Devlin Diary by Christi Phillips

I'm a lover of books, it's true.  But the kuripot (cheapskate) in me oftentimes cheer in delight whenever I uncover an unexpected, low priced find in a book sale.  In fact, whenever buying a brand new tome , I think about it once or twice before shelling out some of my hard earned moolah (unless, of course, if it's on a title that I've been seriously waiting for.)

That being said, I've been meaning to buy Christi Phillip's The Rossetti Letter for a while now, but having found myself defeated in locating a copy at a most recent book sale I attended here (I so miss our very own Book Sale shops terribly.  *sigh*), I had to content myself with the next best thing -- The Devlin Diary (also from the same author.)

A Walk Around Singapore's Chinatown

A lot of the visitors to Singapore I meet usually forgo a visit to the Lion City's Chinatown, opting instead to traipse along the more popular touristy destinations.  I, however, do highly recommend you check this little historical and cultural gem out for a number of reasons.

Changi City Point Mall: A Haven for Outlet Shoppers in Singapore

One of the things I could never quite get used to here in Singapore are the abundant number of malls in almost every area.  There are tons here!  It's no wonder this city-state is such a popular shopper's haven. 

But I do, however, appreciate a good bargain.  And thank heavens, there are a number of outlet stores here to choose from too.  In fact, one of my favorite malls here actually houses quite a number.

And just when you thought Magnum only had 3 flavors, you'll be quite surprised to know that they have a number of varieties more being offered here in Singapore.

Easy Pha-max Wheatgrass Pulvoron

I've been taking Easy Pha-max wheatgrass for a while now (their wheatgrass honey is my favorite since it's sweet) ever since being introduced to it during Blogapalooza last year. 

And although I have grown to love the taste (believe me it's not as grass-like as what others would expect.  Read my full initial impressions here.), there are times when I bore of it.

Good thing that adventurous cooks of Easy Pha-max thought of experimenting with their products by including them in ordinary everyday fare just for a change of pace.  Take this wheatgrass pulvoron recipe I found at their website.

FOUND! schu Factory Outlet in Pasig City

I heard schu's original factory outlet store in Makati closed down a few months back.  So I was quite happy to hear that they now have one in Ortigas!

I love a good old mystery.  Combined with historical, early 21st century-era backdrops where ladies were just starting the women's liberation movement, challenging the conventional views of their times; and you've got me hooked (sorry, I was never one for D-I-Ds -- Damsels in Distress.)

So while browsing through Amazon.com, I found this little tome by Sarah Addison Allen, hoping it would be just the thing to whet my appetite for the esoteric.
