Considered to have the second highest elevated area in the country, it's no wonder they get to enjoy cool, crisp, refreshing (*sigh*) weather for most of the year. And with its close proximity to the Metro, it's the ideal place to cool off when one finds the capital too stifling (and polluted and hot and dirty, etc.)
Hence, we did, one weekend, pack our overnight bags for a short stay at Summit Ridge Hotel for some needed R&R.
Summit Ridge Hotel |
Developed and managed by Robinsons Land Corp., Summit Ridge Hotel is located along the Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Pretty much near a lot of interesting attractions to boot. They also boast that ALL their rooms have a view of the famous Taal Volcano.
Slightly foggy but it's there |
Rooms are simply furnished, spacious and are equipped with complimentary WIFI.
King Classic |
Modern and sleek design extending to the bathroom.

There are the usual signs of wear (it's not a new hotel, after all); but everything's clean and in good working order.
Hallway |
We've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed a number of overnight stays in various other Tagaytay hotels; but the one thing that always baffles me is the presence of swimming pools in these establishments.
Pool |
I mean, given the cold temperature at Tagaytay, would you really want to go for a dip?
Those who don't want to freeze their b***s off can opt to burn calories at the hotel's gym or activity center. A SeriAsia Spa offers uhmm.. spa and massage services (in-room available, too), at surprisingly affordable prices (considering they are located inside a hotel).
Meals are provided by their in-house restaurant, C2 Classic Cuisine (a huge plus as I am a fan.)
C2 Classic Cuisine |
Buffet breakfast is also served here.
Attack! |
Robinsons' Summit Ridge Promenade is right next door where you can opt to dine instead or stock up a little on snacks at the supermarket. Pasalubong can also be found there, although the hotel also has a Delfa's Food Products branch in the lobby.
Delfa's |
Most important of all, you get to the enjoy the cool weather. Such a refreshing change from the noise and pollution of the city!
