Chez Karine Bakery's Muscovado Pudding

Chez Karine Bakery... tons have blogged about them; lots have been said about the food.  So when my little family found ourselves staying a few days at one of the hotels in BGC, I knew we just had to drop by this place and try them out, at least once.

Chez Karine Bakery in Serendra

It was close to 9 that night.  A little late for the Little One (since she's usually fast asleep by 8); but, what the hey!  We were on va/stay-cation and so we let her be.

Crossing the street from our hotel, we decided that a little trek up and down the width of Bonifacio High Street was what we needed to help us relax and unwind more before sleep finally claimed us.  Serenaded by the soothing sounds of various street musicians, we weaved through and/or around the throng; the Little One wide-eyed at being let free to enjoy the nightlife not usually afforded to her.

And as we were heading back, we decided a midnight snack was in order (Oh yes!  The joys of being on vacation!).  Hence, we continued on to Serendra; I with the full intention of finally giving Chez Karine a try.

My companions had a different idea, though.  Unfortunately, the Husband and the Little One were craving for gelato, hence, I was the only one left to try out a Chez Karine concoction.  And my choice?  This creamy, heavenly Muscovado Pudding, selling for Php110.

Dessert in a jar

It comes in such a pretty little bottle.  So pretty, in fact, that I decided to bring it back to our hotel room first for a little photo shoot session (darn those beside reading lights that made the perfect spotlights, too).

Gorgeous!

After packing away the cam, I settled in happily in front of the wide window seat, savoring, finally, the moment when I could crack open this baby.  Hungry eyes followed my every move; but as seeing both the Husband and the Little One already had more than their fill of gelato, I tucked my prize away from their sight and enjoyed each sinful bite with relish (by my happy lonesome).

Ok... fine... I caved in a little and gave the Little One a few bites.  Just couldn't resist those baby browns of hers (plus it was the only way to stop her crying like a banshee, too).

*sigh*  It was worth the wait.
