Wawawa: Bistro by the Reservoir in Singapore

GIVEAWAY ALERT!  Get a chance to win travel-sized Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries from their Avocado, Olive & Basil collection.  Visit this post (link here) for more details.

Situated alongside the jogging/biking/strolling path at the Bedok Reservoir Park (read my full post about it in this here link), enticing people with good food, is a little place called Wawawa.  And yes, this ain't no joke; for this Bistro by the Reservoir determined that there could be no easier way for potential patrons to remember their name than by using the same dang syllable 3 times (please note that this is purely speculation on my part.)  J

Wawawa: Bistro by the Reservoir

Kidding aside, Wawawa is a full service restaurant along the Bedok Reservoir Park offering good old comfort food with a German(-nic?) influence.  That being said, what gastronomical delights can one exactly enjoy in this bistro?

For starters, they serve one mean Wild Mushroom Cream soup (S$5.80/Php191.40*).

Wild Mushroom Cream Soup

I know it isn't much to look at, but believe me, appearances can be very deceiving.  It actually tastes so much better than it looks.  Really creamy soup made from a heady mix of shitake and button mushrooms.  Good enough to rival our all-time favorite from (*gasp!*) Marche's (full review here).   It's rich and meaty and so delicious.

For those wishing for something with fowl, there's their Cajun Chicken (S$14.80/Php488.40*).  A house specialty, this juicy dish of Cajun spice-seasoned chicken thigh, served with a rich mushroom sauce, mashed 'taters, and veggies is a truly a great comfort food.

If you're in the mood for burgers, Wawawa also serves delicious Mini Beef Burgers (S$13.80/Php455.40*) to meet your cravings.

Mini Beef Burgers

Served with a side of fries and vegetables, it's a highly satisfying meal of juicy, perfectly cooked beef patties with cheese, sandwiched in between 2 brown, slightly charred buns.  Perfect with an ice cold beer; or for teetotalers like the Husband and me, an ice cold, non-alcoholic Lemon Iced Tea!

Good food in a great, cool location.  What more can you ask for?  J
