I posted about McDonald's here in Singapore having a Hello Kitty plushie promotion a few weeks ago (read my full post about it in this here link).  And boy, was I surprised at how high my viewership numbers for that particular entry grew in only a few hours after posting.  Pretty amazing.  So I guess it is safe to assume that a lot of people are interested in this thing.

Like all other female bodies in Singapore, the Little One and I too, both went gaga over these cuties.  So here's a small peek at what you'll get for S$4.60 (Php151.80*), plus purchase of a value meal too, of course.

Hello Kitty Fairy Tales plushie

I present exhibit A, Hello Kitty dressed up at the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz, which was the first design offered at the start of the promotion last May.

Hello Kitty as the Cowardly Lion

Unlike the other plastic bag-clad Hello Kitty plushie promotions I've encountered (most of them in the Philippines), this one came with this very cute box.  Great for displaying, don't you think?

For display purposes

You'll notice that the hood on her head is the only removable part.  The rest of the costume is sewed on pretty tight.

Upon further inspection, I suddenly got the feeling that it seemed smaller than the previous similar plushies offered by McDonald's.  So I compared it an older Kitty Mickey D's doll that was offered a few years back.

Side-by-side

You'll notice the size difference immediately.  Further inspection under Kitty's hood reveled a visible line connecting her right ear to the rest of her head, something I've never seen in any other Hello Kitty doll in the market.

So yes, I am a tad disappointed (the dead crossed out eyes on the Lion hood didn't help matters, too), but these small flaws didn't stop the Little One from taking Kitty to bed and lovingly tucking her under the sheets (ahhh... the innocence of youth.)

I sincerely doubt, though, if any of these flaws would make die-hard Hello Kitty fans want to stop collecting the whole set.  As for me, I'm wishing the next one's better.

*S$1 = Php33
